Description
24" (61 cm.) Within a tall glass dome on wooden ebony base is a porcelain double-handled vase with gilt painting, containing an elaborate arrangement of flowers, leaves and thistles of stiffened gold leaf and white papers; the white flowers with gilt centers accented by applique sequins. The arrangement is a dramatic accent in totality, and a close examination reveals extraordinary artisanal talent of the long-lost skill. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880.
