Description
13" (33 cm.) l. 6"h. The pianoforte shaped box has beautifully applied scenes depicting courtly images, cherubs at play, and garlands and swags, and rests upon an ornate bronze base. The lid of the box opens to a silk padded interior, with compartment at one end which disguises a music box. The music box is wound from the underside, creating a delicate tune. Marked "Modele Depose". Very good condition. French, circa 1875.
