18" (46 cm.) Cloth socket head with pressed and oil-painted facial features, painted brown hair waved across the forehead with stippled detail, brown painted downcast eyes, black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, closed mouth with accent line between the shaded lips, all cloth body with ball-jointed arms, separate thumbs, ball-jointed hips and knees, wearing green woolen tweed suit and cap, shirt, woolen stockings, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Kathe Kruse, the first model, presented for one year only in 1910, in conjunction with Kammer and Reinhardt. Value Points: very rare doll with wonderful original finish and condition, unique body construction.
