27" (69 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with oval face and elongated strong throat, black enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, heavy eye lids, accented nostrils closed mouth, blushed cheeks, black painted pate, black hand-tied human hair wig, kid hand-stitched poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1840. Value Points: the early period poupee is wearing original cotton gown, apron, undergarments, leather slippers, and owns an early trunk with original label from M. Lambert of Cannes, France, containing three additional dress, 12 undergarments, and two bonnets.
