Carved wooden donkey with well-defined mane, tail and ears, large enamel eyes, painted brown finish with shaded cream muzzle, and with woven basket slung over his back containing an assortment of sculpted polychromed fruits. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, outstanding carving with gentle facial expression, wonderful accessory basket with rare sculpted fruits.
