Each is of fine muslin with mask pressed and painted face, large blue side-glancing googly eyes, painted upper lashes, button-shaped nose with rosy tip, tiny closed smiling mouth, blushed cheeks, one-piece muslin torso and legs, sewn-on striped stockings, stitch-jointed arms, she with blonde wool braids, he with brown wool curly locks. Excellent condition. Marks: Bobby Q [or Susie Q]. Madame Alexander New York (cloth tag on costumes), Madame Alexander, circa 1935. The rare-to-find dolls in large size are wearing well-detailed original costumes, hats, stitched-on striped stockings, and have perfectly-preserved facial painting; preserved in original labeled box.
