18" (46 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very full cheeks, amber-brown glass inset eyes of great depth, eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows with feathered detail, mauve-blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with very full shaded and outlined lips, separately modeled pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, his earliest period premiere bebe with Medaille d'Or body. Value Points: most endearing luxury bebe with fine quality of bisque, especially fine detail of sculpted ears, original wig with original Jumeau comb, original body and body finish, lovely early linen tablier costume, Jumeau socks and cream kidskin shoes impressed "E. Jumeau Med d'Or Paris 1878".
