17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden body with original mechanism allowing the doll to "walk". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: R. D Bte SGDG (red ink stamp on head) R.D.(key initials). Comments: Emile Jumeau with Roullet et Decamps, circa 1890, when wound, the doll is designed to "walk". Value Points: beautiful bebe with very fine original Jumeau wig, Jumeau red flowered chemise, and original body and body finish.
