Description
21" (53 cm.) Hand-pressed porcelain shoulder head with oval face and elongated throat, sculpted brown hair in centerpart that is drawn over the ears and pulled to the back of the head in a flattened chignon, large painted blue eyes in deeply-set sockets, red and black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, circle accents at eye corners and nostrils, aquiline nose, closed mouth with enigmatic smile, accent line between the lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms with stitched and separated fingers, cotton gown, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 (front shoulder plate) K.P.M. (blue mark and red orb inside shoulder-plate). Comments: KPM, circa 1840. Value Points: especially fine quality of sculpting including deep eye sockets, beautifully-shaded features especially of rare brown hair.
