23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, impressed dimples at philtrum and chin, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, burgundy silk costume and bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 EJ. Comments: Emile Jumeau, his earliest period EJ bebe, circa 1882. Value Points: very beautiful early bebe with choicest bisque and painting especially around mouth and eyes, original body and body finish.
