15" (38 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head inclined slightly downward, grey sculpted hair loosely waved back from her face into casually looped chignon at the back with cascading curls below, heavily-lidded enamel eyes, deeply-defined facial features, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and shapely legs, blue stockings, brown shoes, wearing original folklore costume of silk and velvet with gilt metallic embroidery, silver necklace, and holding a gilt-edged porcelain bowl. Excellent condition, chip at back chignon loop, Neapolitan, mid-1700s, very fine modeling and painting, finely-detailed original costume.
