22" (56 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, dimpled philtrum, well-defined chin, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque lower arms and hands, lovely antique costume. Condition: bisque head and shoulder plate excellent, kid body is worn and has repairs, bisque hands excellent except left baby finger broken at knuckle. Marks: Bru Jne 8 (head and shoulders). Leon Casimir Bru, the first period bebe from that firm, circa 1878. Value Points: gentle expression on the early period Bru bebe is enhanced by delicate complexion and blush, beautiful spiral threaded eyes.
