Description
12" (30 cm.) doll. 16" cabinet. A honey-toned poured wax head with painted facial features and sculpted wax coiffure is posed standing on a fabric covered wooden frame, surrounded by delicately feathered flowers, She is wearing a very fine silk jacket and skirt with applique and embroidered decorations, and has a gilded coronet flanked by silk flowers and pom-poms. The doll is presented in her original ebony wood cabinet with mother-of-pearl inlay. Condition: very good, surrounding feathered flowers are somewhat frail. Comments: mid-1800s. Value Points: outstanding detail of costume and accessories on the rare doll.
