12" (30 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head depicted aged man with sculpted long grey hair and very full elongated grey beard, grey brows, enamel eyes, mouth sculpted as though open with sculpted teeth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted red boots with draped green edging, wearing original costume comprising ivory silk pants, richly-embroidered green velvet tunic, floral-embroidered coat, green velvet cap with gilt fringe, matching turban with jeweled medallion. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, depicted as Balthazar of the Three Wise Men.
