13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, painted dark curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid gusset-jointed body with bisque forearms and separately sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent, one finger re-glued. Comments: French, circa 1875, maker uncertain, the body shape and bisque hands are indicative of Bru. Value Points: beautiful face with delicate bisque having soft blushing, brilliant eyes, very sturdy body, lovely antique costume.
