Base is 16" X 16", The petite wooden house features an elaborate arrangement of roof lines, shingled roofs that can be removed for access to the interior, exterior sliding door partitions with elaborate lattice construction of doors, raised on stilts, with balcony porch, outside shed, fence work and arranged on wooden-framed gritted base. From a series of miniature mid-1900s houses commissioned by Huguette Clark from the Japanese artist, Saburo Kawakami, through the agency of the historic Asian art importer G.T. Marsh of San Francisco and Santa Barbara. The construction as well as native woods are authentic, including sliding doors which are designed to simply fit into the floor and frame grooves in the exact manner of actual buildings. Excellent condition.
