Description
17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features, shaded brown hair with forelock curl, brown eyes, white eye dots, pronounced black and brown upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pensive expression, stitch-jointed shoulders, wide disc-jointed five-seam legs, separately-stitched thumbs. Condition: generally excellent, some body and hands scuffing. Marks: Kathe Kruse (left foot, some illegible numbers). Comments: Kathe Kruse, Type I, circa 1920. Value Points: most artistic painting enhances the deeply modeled facial features, wonderful antique costume. Private collection Linda Kellermann.
