14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, dramatically large grey glass inset eyes with blue outer iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig in elaborate coiffure over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing, stitched and separated fingers, lovely antique silk and velvet costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, the rare transitional poupee whose same model was used as the earliest bebe model. Value Points: fabulous dramatic eyes enhance the portrait-like features, original signed body.
