17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lightly-feathered brows and lashes, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, heart-shaped upper lip, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French stretched-kid-over wooden body, with metal-hinge hip jointing covered by kid "baggy" upper legs, metal upper arms, bisque forearms, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, restoration to right hand. Comments: French, circa 1867, with deposed body by Cruchet, the doll was often presented by the prestigious doll shop of Terrene and is, thus, often referred to as the "Terrene poupee". Value Points: rare poupee whose exquisitely-beautiful face is complemented by luxury unique body model.
