27" (69 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes which operate from a lever at back of head, dark eyeliner lushly-painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with working pullstring "mama" crier. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 18 Paris (incised) Le Parisien (red stamp). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1890. Value Points: wearing beautiful rose pique coat dress with silk fringe and silk bonnet with tiered Alencon lace ruffles, rose satin shoes, the doll has her original trunk and trousseau comprising four additional dresses, various costume elements such as jacket and pinafore, five additional hats, matched set of cutwork undergarments, and more.
