Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with sculpted white cap that encloses the entire back of head and forms into scarf points at the front throat, with a coronet of sculpted lavender ruffles at the crown, sculpted blonde hair, blue glass inset eyes, black eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather lower arms, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 996 # 8. Comments: Alt, Beck and Gottschalk, circa 1880. Value Points: few examples of the very rare model are known to exist, the rarity of the sculpted coiffe is enhanced by glass eyes, and superb sculpting.
