29" (74 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted dark curly lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, shaded nostrils, open mouth with outlined lips, heart-shaped upper lip, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, antique embroidered costume and ruffled bonnet, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 11 F.G. (in scroll, head) A La Tentation Guyot...(body). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1888, the bebe was original presented at A La Tentation, the Paris doll shop of Monsieur Guyot, on Passage Vendome. Value Points: beautiful and rare facial expression and painting.
