Each with carved wooden socket head, angular facial shape with strongly defined features, blue glass inset eyes, painted richly blushed complexion, strongly outlined eyes with dark eye shadow, painted brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, elaborately arranged blonde mohair wigs in classic styles, carved wooden torso, defined waist, iron pin jointing of hips and knees, cloth upper arms with carved wooden hands and well-defined fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Venetian court dolls, circa 1780. Value Points: the extremely rare dolls with highly expressive facial carving enhanced by original painting have original wigs, and are wearing (frail) original costumes in the late 18th century Venetian court style.
