Description
2" (5 cm.) h. The oval gold-plated framed painting on bone depicts an 18th century woman with very elaborate ringlet-curled coiffure topped by a lace-edged coiffe, and with earrings, necklace, and ruffled bodice. The painting is protected by an oval domed glass that also protects a circlet of braided ornamental hair, in exact color to match the painting. Excellent condition. Late 18th century.
