Description
6" (15 cm.) x 3 1/2". The heavy stock box with marbled blue paper, cover edged with embossed gilt paper, has a center panel engraving of three children and dog, and opens to reveal the velvet and silk lined interior fitted with gold-plated tools with elaborate relief designs, including scissors, thimble, needle case, awl, and a sword-shaped letter opener. Excellent condition. French, mid-1800s, a luxury and beautifully-preserved heirloom with all original matching tools.
