20" (51 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and oil painted facial features, stationery head which extends to the inside of the cloth body, oil-painted complexion and features, blue/green eyes with rich shading, two eyedots in each eye, thick brown and black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth with wistful expression, blonde human hair in short side-parted boyish fashion, stitch-jointed arms, disc-jointed legs, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, some wear to fingers, some age-darkening of body. Marks: Kathe Kruse (and numbers on each foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse, Type VIII, the shoulderplate model made 1927 only. Value Points: rare model with most captivating expression, very artistic painting of eyes.
