29" (74 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks, delicate pale bisque, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curl lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, feathered arched brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden fully-jointed body with very plump limbs, straight wrists, wearing a pretty antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 16 X. Comments: Kestner, circa 1882. Value Points: beautiful doll with lovely bisque, original wig, body, and body finish. The doll was featured in a full-page photograph in Fascinating Dolls by Samy Odin, described as a "magnificent doll...the quality of the bisque is remarkable".
