Description
10" (25 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden ball-jointed body, straight wrists, nice antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 117. Comments: Sonneberg, mystery maker, circa 1882, the doll closely resembles the premiere Jumeau bebe whose market it attempted to capture. Value Points: appealing gentle expression, fine quality of bisque, closed mouth, original body and body finish, and carrying little all-bisque brown-complexioned doll with swivel head.
