Description
21" (53 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, open mouth with slightly-parted outlined lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair curly hair, carton torso with clockwork mechanism, composition arms, kid-over-metal hinged upper legs, composition lower legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Jules Steiner, his Bebe Gigoteur model, circa 1880, when wound, the doll waves arms and legs, turns head and cries "mama". Value Points: an especially beautiful example of the beloved doll with gorgeous eyes, beautiful bisque, original costume including aqua kid shoes.
