Description
18" (46 cm.) x 11". The firm-sided box with decorative paper covers and lid image of Polichinelle and Pierrot carrying a box labeled "Recompense" filled with little gifts, being chased by children. The lid opens to a well-fitted interior with loterie paddles, a revolving roulette wheel, and shelves to which are originally attached a number of little toys, novelties, dolls, and whimsical prizes. Generally excellent. French, circa 1875, an early and beautifully-preserved presentation.
