Description
13" (33 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and oil painted facial features and hair, single seam head, brown hair in swirling curls across the forehead, painted brown eyes in deeply-set sockets, tinted brows, closed mouth with smiling expression and impressed laughter lines, padded armature frame with stockinette cover, mitten hands, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent except some age-darkening of body. Marks: Kathe Kruse 16673 (foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1922, the model is known as "Schlenderchen". Value Points: one of the rarest and most endearing of the Kruse child, with well-preserved original facial and hair painting.
