17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, defined eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, well-costumed in matching gown to #65. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Aux Reves de L'Enfance 40 Rue de Richelieu (original paper label). Comments: French, circa 1865, the poupee was sold in the prestigious Parisian toy and doll shop of Aux Reves de L'Enfance. Value Points: brilliant cobalt eyes dramatize the delicate bisque of the elegant lady, her original paper label an indication of her luxury origin, finest bisque and painting.
