Description
6" (15 cm.) - 12". Complete set of six amusing wooden ducks in graduated sizes, each with segmented posable neck, hinged legs, snap-open beaks, painted details of facial features and costumes or feathers. Included are Papa Danny Daddles with wooden top hat, Mama Quaky Doodles with cloth sunbonnet, Danny Daddles Junior with wooden top hat, Miss Quaky Doodles, Baby Danny Daddles with wooden sailor cap, and Baby Quacky Doodles. Condition: very good/excellent, a few minor touch-ups to finish. Comments: Schoenhut, inspired by published works by P.F. Volland illustrated by Johnny Gruelle, circa 1920; included is an early advertisement for the books and the ducks which notes that they "never lose their good humor".
