Description
8" (20 cm.) doll. 12" x 10" box. A glass-fronted box with decorative paper covers and gilt edging displays a bisque-head doll with blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed smiling mouth, two beaded upper teeth, brunette mohair wig, composition bent limb baby body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 236 Paris 0 (doll). Comments: SFBJ, circa 1910, the presentation box was commissioned for a luxury Parisian store such as Au Nain Bleu. Value Points: in near mint unplayed with condition, the rare size 0 doll wears fine muslin and lace baby dress and bonnet, and has additional bonnets, bibs, jacket, and accessories of fine white pique, along with little toys still arranged in the original box.
