28" (71 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with rounded face and black sculpted hair waved softly over her ears and forming into short uniform finger curls, black enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, closed mouth with tentative smile, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, antique costume. Condition: original finish with complexion and painting on face well-preserved, some light craquelure on shoulderplate and one corner re-glued. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value Points: endearing features with rare glass eyes, original painting.
