Description
4 1/2" (11 cm.) -5". Each is firm-sided valise with leather cover; one with brown leather cover, brass fittings and leather-rope handle, opening on two sides to reveal purple silk lined interior fitted on one side with folios for "Divers" and "Visites" (presumably calling cards) and with mirror, and bone spoon and fork, and on the other side with flaps for needles and various sewing tools; the other being oval shaped with blue cover accented with wide bands of gold-tooled tan leather, matching strap, and opening to blue silk lined interior with leather board containing scissors, fancy silver thimble, and other few assorted sewing objects. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880, perfectly sized for display with 22"-25" bebes.
