Description
12" (30 cm.) h. 14" overall length. A bisque-head girl with blue glass eyes, mohair lashes, painted features, open mouth, row of porcelain teeth, blonde mohair wig, carton torso, metal upper arms and legs, composition lower limbs, is holding the wooden rods of a two-wheeled farm cart upon which is seated her little sister having bisque head, blue glass eyes, open mouth, four teeth, blonde mohair wig, wooden block torso, composition lower limbs. When wound, the larger doll moves her legs forward, alternately, as though walking and, thus, pulling the cart. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Roullet & Decamps, Paris, circa 1890, with original bisque heads from Simon and Halbig and Schoneau & Hoffmeister. Value Points: wonderfully preserved enchanting toy, the little girls with luxury original wigs, and costumes.
