17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, very plump cheeks, painted blue eyes with darker blue iris rims and downcast black pupils, dark eyeliner with painted all-around eye lashes, decorative glaze at lower edge of eyes, light eye shadow, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, unpierced ears, blonde fleecy wig over cork pate, wooden poupee body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees, lovely costume in the classic enfantine mode. Condition: generally excellent, some rubs on original body finish. Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1857. Value Points: outstanding painting of eyes that are beautifully complemented by contrasting plump modeling and delicate complexion.
