28" (71 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with plump rounded face, black scalloped-curls short sculpted hair, defined eye sockets with large brown painted eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, painted lower lashes, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, circle accents at nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, impressed dimples at philtrum and lip corners, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms. Condition: generally excellent, very early professional restoration on shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1865. Value Points: rare painted brown eyes and lashes are especially well-rendered, the doll wears fine early costume with soutache embroidery, undergarments, and fine old hand-cobbled shoes.
