16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, plump rounded facial shape, large brown glass sleep and side-glancing googly eyes, black eyeliner, dainty short upper lashes, angled feathered brows with ochre shading, button-shaped nose, closed mouth with watermelon slice-shaped mouth, shaded lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, very plump composition fully jointed toddler body with defined muscles and chubby rolls, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: H made in Germany 12 JDK 221 Ges Gesch. Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, the model was inspired by Rose O'Neill's Kewpie which the firm also made. Value Points: the very rare largest size of the beloved googly, finest bisque and modeling, original body and body finish.
