Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,painted small grey glass inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with pale outlined lips,ears pierced into head,auburn mohair wig over cork pate,,kid poupee body with shapely torso,gusset-jointing at elbows,hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent,very sturdy and clean original body. Marks: 5 (head and shoulder). Comments: in the Barrois manner,likely commissioned for exclusive Parisian boutique,circa 1865. Value Points: beautiful doll with portrait like face has very lovely face and decoration,original very sturdy body,is wearing original lingerie including framed bustle with lower lace panels,chemise and pantalets,bonnet,and superb leather heeled boots. Included is a magenta silk fashion gown with velvet purse and paisley shawl.
