25" (64 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with oval face and elongated throat, black sculpted hair with vertical curls at the forehead, then brushed backward into a fanlike arrangement of eight horizontal arranged curls at the crown and back of head, held by a gilt-edged blue hair band, partially sculpted pierced ears, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, black single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with primly set lips, painted blue necklace ribbon with defined bow at the back, pendant outline designed for placement of alien decoration, muslin stitch-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Conta and Bohne, circa 1870. Value Points: superb detail of sculpted coiffure in very unusual style, enhanced by details such as feathering around the face, rare jewelry.
