25" (64 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with oval face and elongated throat, pale blonde sculpted hair with vertical curls at the forehead, then brushed backward into a fanlike arrangement of eight horizontal arranged curls at the crown and back of head, held by a gilt-edged blue hair band, partially sculpted ears, painted blue upper-glancing eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, brown single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with primly set lips, painted blue necklace ribbon with defined bow at the back, pendant outline designed for placement of alien decoration, muslin stitch-jointed body with carved wooden lower arms and legs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, some fading of blue decorations. Comments: Conta and Bohne, circa 1870. Value Points: intriguing variation of the preceding lot.
