Description
9" (23 cm.) x 9". The well-detailed thick paste porcelain group depicts a seated weary mother, her head inclined against the back chair rail, as she holds a little brown-haired girl on her lap, while a young lad rests against her skirt. The scene is detailed with expressive face and fine detail and painting of costumes. The top removes to reveal a double inkwell hidden inside. Excellent condition. Germany, mid-1800s.
