19" (48 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with black sculpted short scalloped-edge curls, brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, red upper eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1860s, the doll was affectionately named "Augusta Braunglaser" by Estelle Johnston. Value Points: rare brown glass eyes and painted lashes, the well-dressed lady is accompanied by her original doll trunk with James L. Taylor of Boston label, which is filled with her original additional costumes and accessories, comprising five early gowns, three outdoor jackets (one knit with matching knit muff), four various blouses, three skirts, two aprons, five hats, two umbrellas, four pairs of gloves, two pairs of shoes, and various accessories, jewelry and memorabilia. The doll has a blue ribbon award from 1993 UFDC convention.
