Description
12" (30 cm.) Each has bisque socket head with black glass inset eyes, painted facial features, closed mouth, mohair wig, composition arms, and a hollow cardboard body form covered with a white pique bunting and lace trimmed bib, one gilt lettered "Andre" and the other "Marie"; the bunting is tied with blue silk ribbons and separates at the waist for access to the candy container. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.G. (scroll, heads) Bonnet Depose (gilt lettering on base). Comments: French, circa 1890. Value Points: luxury candy boxes are presented in fine original and well-preserved condition, designed for children "Andre" and "Marie".
