Description
18" (46 cm.) x 13" box. The wooden box is covered with beautifully lithographed papers, the label "Toilette" on the lid, and hinges open to reveal an exceptionally well-fitted interior containing a toilette set and accessories suitable for a large doll, including porcelain wash bowl and pitcher with rose edging and floral decorations, and with a pair of matching lidded boxes, small bowl, and jar with lid, along with wrapped soaps, comb and brush set, various colognes, ribbon-trimmed towels and other accessories. A mirror is centered on the inside lid, framed by ribbon-trimmed lace. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1880. Value Points: perfectly-preserved luxury French doll accessory; few examples of this luxury and fine originality can be found today.
