Polychromed terra cotta head turned sideways, bald pate except sculpted tuft of hair at his crown, curved black brows, sculpted black beard and moustache, tow-wrapped posable armature body, sculpted wooden hands and lower legs, painted blue boots, red stockings, wearing original costume comprising yellow pants and shirt, ivory twill vest with gilt metallic embroidery, lined red silk coat with gilt embroidery and paillettes, with brass scimitar. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, especially fine sculpting and unusual hair, original costume.
