Description
16" (41 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, painted light brown boyish hair with modeled forelock curl, small blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, short tapered brows, closed mouth with downcast lips, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R S&H 115 . Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1912, the model known as "Phillip". The wistful-faced character model was inspired by a very similar 17th century bust of a young child by Francois Duquesnoy. Value Points: rare sculpted hair model has finest quality of bisque and painting enhanced by luminous patina, original toddler body with original finish.
