All-wooden character with swivel head, jointing at shoulders and hips, and rare additional jointing at elbows and knees, painted short brown hair, painted facial features including spectacles with chain, bushy moustache, prominently painted teeth, painted brown boots. Excellent condition. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1909, from the firm's Teddy's Adventures in Africa Series, a remarkably accurate portrait of the American President Theodore Roosevelt during that historic expedition. Value Points: the figure has rare knee and elbow articulation, fine original painting, and original khaki twill costume, along with rifle, pistol, knife, binoculars and ammunition pouch.
